I put this into an existing build; The old power supply shut down the computer twice in a month without warning, so I figured it would be best to replace it. I already had a replacement part but it wasn't modular so I looked for at least a semi-modular one and found this one. Great reviews, great price, what's not to like? Arrived today, everything looks fine. He took out the old power supply, plugged it in and flipped the switch. The light comes on for a split second, then everything goes out. Not entirely happy, I took it out and put in an additional non-modular power supply and my computer booted again, but this time it said no boot devices were installed. I went into my BIOS and sure enough, my boot disk (an SSD I've had for several years) was gone. I even swapped the cables (both power and SATA) to make sure they were ok and no matter what I did the boot drive never showed up. Now I'm glad I didn't put anything very important on the drive as it was basically just for booting Windows 7, but I ended up "upgrading" to Windows 10 because it looks like Microsoft would have made a clean install as difficult as possible. the first without a DVD drive, which I now lack. Anyway, I'm not too happy that I just lost an SSD and I hope I don't eventually find out there was something useful on that HDD.
