I purchased this antenna based on a friend's recommendation and extremely positive reviews on eHam. I'm very glad I did this. Although I haven't connected it to a standalone analyzer yet, my radio reports a 1:1 SWR on the 70cm band and most of the 2m band with a maximum SWR of 1.5:1 at 2 m. no. The antenna is magic and there are so many variables that affect range. However, I work indoors in a noisy area (a Chicago apartment with no balcony is far from ideal) and can work with people 30-40 miles away using a 35W UHF simplex. The antenna is attached to a length of PVC pipe that slips onto the neck of a cheap tripod with a sawn-off camera mount. The connection to my transceiver is via a 50ft LMR-400 cable to a Daiwa resonator switch and another 7ft RG-213 cable to the X50A. The antenna mount on the mast has a very elegant design that protects the coaxial interface from water. If only I could hang that thing outside.
