I have a very dark wooden staircase that my aging dog is beginning to slide down. I wanted something that would blend in with the dark wood without being too flashy. Pros: easy to apply, looks attractive. Cons: The material is quite smooth (almost like thick felt). Not as strong as I was hoping, but a lot better than just wood. Dog hair tends to get tangled in the fibers and will require a little vacuuming to remove the hair. They cost less than other stair treads, although I wish they were 8 inches wide (like most) and not 6 inches. The only thing that worries me is that after applying I looked at the instructions which said not to apply over polyurethane. Of course, most interior wooden stairs have polyurethane, so I'm hoping it won't leave a residue when I remove it. In general I am satisfied with the work and the price.
