Review on 🌊 TORVA 15 x 17 Inch Undermount Bar Sink – High Quality 16 Gauge Stainless Steel Wet Bar or Prep Sink, Single Bowl, Fits 18" Cabinet by Michael Schafer

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Rusted in less than 2 weeks

TL:DR - Surface rust appeared within 2 weeks; small but ugly. Not recommended for contractors or other professionals. Full Review: I installed it as a top mount in my sailboat's galley instead of throwing change at the Ruvati (plus I liked the size of these a bit better) and initially everything was fine. Some bottom mount sinks have problems with their insulation preventing top mounting, either because the insulation on the vertical walls interferes with the opening edges or the insulation on the underside of the flange face prevents them from lying flat on the countertop. It didn't have any of those problems - it glowed fairly flat and fit right into the stencil hole, although I cut it slightly smaller. The only initial problem was that the outside edges of the flange, especially the corners, were a bit sharp/rough, but softening them up a bit with a few strokes of sandpaper was no problem. Also, the included grille looks very nice, and the proportions and placement of the corners and drain hole are also very good. So far so good, right? Not right. The only clear reason this isn't a five star review came about a week and a half after I installed it: the supposed stainless steel sink started to rust! It shouldn't matter, but I've kept the sink in good condition. and dry (I keep the whole rack dry because the finish on it will harden slowly). However, one of the flanges had a spot of rust about 4 inches long. I don't have time to take it out, send it in, wait for the new one to arrive and then install the second one hoping for better results so I'll just sand/buff the rust and hope it stays in that area. If you're looking for a cheap alternative to Ruvati and have the time, give this one a try, but I wouldn't recommend it. for contractors or those who need a guaranteed professional finish the first time.
