I have a very picky cat. She jumped right in and this is her new spot. I didn't want to buy this as I had a different type of cat house that she never used that looked like a teddy bear from the outside. It should be materials or smells that she doesn't like. This is generally the case with toys. She's just picky. I'm so glad she likes it. In my opinion it is well done. No chemical smells. It is actually durable due to its construction and comes with a good cushion.
