I have Elite Series 2 and 1708 controllers. I bought these because I wanted my standard controller to feel like my Elite controller when traveling. These are the little things we do to make us feel good. I've never owned the Elite One series controller, so I'm used to dimming everything. The metal inserts of the cross are perfect. I was just black with the magnetic board. At first the magnets on the back of the green D-Pad were loose, I was able to carefully pry them off and glue them with superglue. a small drop is enough. Hold them there for a second or two to allow the glue to set. Second, I was worried about the green color, so I painted it black. If you're reading this and want black too, don't paint in high humidity without enough time to cure and cure. The magnets suck the metal inserts into your color. Third, if you screw up or your finish isn't what you want, clean the part with 90% alcohol, NOT acetone! my crap I dipped the plastic in acetone to quickly remove the paint. The plastic used is destroyed in it. Clean it by rubbing alcohol and cotton swab.
