Ideal as a bar table behind the sofa. It was actually quite difficult to find a console table wide/deep enough for this type of use. I bought 2, both are as described, the simple design offers plenty of leg room (many console tables of this width have a cross brace between the legs). I'll sand and seal them - love the look but I can already see some small drink/food stains, the wood is definitely quite porous and prone to staining. My sofa is 86 cm long and 30 cm high. I was concerned after reading some of the reviews mentioning mold and odors, but both tables I received were very clean, had minimal dust and the faint factory smell was gone after a few days.
