This motor is ideal for replacing a broken geared motor in the (smallest portable) Lifesmart fireplace. Has the correct RPM to match the original engine to keep the fire at a "believable" rate. Please note that like others, this motor rotates in both directions. So if you REALLY want to use it in an electric fireplace, you may need to cycle the fireplace to correct the direction of the flame. A big deal to replace a small cost part. Works perfectly, runs quietly. The fireplace is working again.
