Review on ๐Ÿ“ธ Tough-Resist Photopolymer Compatible with iFun by Scot Hughes

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Prints well and is very durable but leaves marks that are difficult to remove.

I give this resin 5 stars for its durability and how it prints with the Anycubic Photon. I get good detailed prints with a relatively smooth surface texture. A distinctive feature of this resin is durability. I've used this to make several slingshots and frames made from this material have withstood multiple frame hits due to poor release. Other resins caused the entire frame to crack and shatter at the point of impact, even with an impact on the frame. If you are looking for the flexibility and strength of your resin, this resin has enough of it and will stand up to abuse. On the other hand I would like to give this resin 1 star for its easy cleaning. More of a cleaning issue. I don't know what it is, but resin leaves a permanent sticky film on all my prints. Denatured alcohol will not remove it. Detergent doesn't remove it. Long curing under UV light will not remove it. Also, don't leave it out in the midday sun for a few hours. Acetone was the solution to get rid of the sticky film. I poured some into a metal bowl to dip the print and gently brushed the surface with a toothbrush. The acetone didn't damage the print, but it did start to melt the toothbrush. After the acetone dried, the print surface became dull and slightly tacky. I'm pretty sure a little acetone soak will remove the rest of the residue, but I don't want to risk damaging the print. I may have to try and test the failed print when I receive it.
