Review on πŸ› οΈ Enhance Your Mechanics Toolbox with OTC 4754 Universal Pulley Holder Wrench - Premium Quality with Interchangeable Pins by Doug Booth

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Used to hold the crankshaft pulley on my Toyota 4runner 5vz engine!

I needed a way to keep the crank and camshaft pulleys from turning when replacing the timing belt and water pump on a 5VZ-FE engine in my 2001 Toyota 4runner. Normally I would have rented this tool from my local auto parts store but they stopped carrying it as few people knew how to use it. hold the pulley. It took a little work to get the bolt under 217 ft-lbs of torque, but it worked by putting it under the frame rail when loosening and over the frame when tightening. The tool bent the movable arm slightly, but held it together. I was also able to use the largest pins to hold the camshaft pulleys in place while I removed them to replace the gaskets behind. The only real problem I had was that after a while the pins started to loosen, so I had to keep tightening them. Overall it's a pretty good tool and cheaper than the competition. I would recommend it if you need to hold large pulleys rather than making your own or using a 2x4.
