I bought these to replace the Christmas lights on our outdoor porch. We live in the San Francisco Bay area and the salty air and heavy rain haven't seem to have killed it in 6 months. The timer is MUCH easier to program and use than most I've had before. A rotating dial; turn on, turn off, turn on/off from dusk to dawn, turn on at dusk and then select the 2, 4 or 6 hour after dark operating mode. ONLY what I want. The light no longer stays on all night. I prefer it at dusk and then +4 or 6 hours at Christmas. Then when I leave them on in the summer they turn on pretty late and I just choose another 2 hours before turning off. We'll see how they hold up, but they appear to be reliable and have performed well so far. Remote control included. off is a great topper for functions. It has great logic for how it works on the main controller in terms of dial settings, but that might be your spoiler. I have to say right away that this is logical and works quite well. I like it! I'm not a REAL Christmas light TV pro, but I stand by it! <grin>
