As you can see from the pictures, the numeric display shows figure-like numbers that represent figure eights in full light, and pulling off one or more sticks results in other numbers. The number bars are black on a silver background, and the "ghosts" of the unlit bars are always present, and it's hard to tell which number is actually being shown unless you're looking directly at the display. Numbers are displayed up to hundredths. degrees, but the device doesn't really have an accurate sensitivity of less than half of 1 degree. To be fair it WAS the cheapest choice at Revain and it came in a cute little black velvet pouch. It is convenient that there are good magnets on all four sides, strong enough to support its weight. This is an improvement over mechanical dials. I probably should have spent a little more to get something that reads a little better.
