To be honest it was for my cat but I don't see why it should matter other than their claws are sharper than a dog's but they also retract. In any case, the rubber band that compresses the boot does not allow her to put her paws inside. I tried turning it inside out and putting it on the sock first but it takes too much pressure on her paws. (e.g. bra straps Velcro) and then buckle - that would be functional. But even after taking exact measurements and ordering a size 1 and a size 3, I couldn't get them to fit my cat's paws. Otherwise they are very well made. They have good stitching, quality and durable fabrics and they have really great designs except the elastic is too tight and has no clasp to release the tension. If they fix the rubber band I would try again.
