Ok, I'll tell you. Yes it's cool and the light effect is great so I give it 3* but the problem is that the magnet almost has to make contact with the sensor on the light box or it won't turn on and off by itself. I didn't implement the concept, I was just looking for a smooth surface on the door panel to place the lightbox on. Unfortunately, the only smooth surface is an area on my door that is a compartment, and when the door closes there is a "several inch gap" between the truck frame and the smooth surface of the panel. It is not possible for the lightbox to hit this magnet close enough to control the lighting. There is a manual on/off switch. Will NOT work in 2021 GMC Sierra Evelation. I will not return it, not worth doing. video attached. Oh, and a guide? Take a strong magnifying glass but it still doesn't explain or show in the diagram that the lightbox has to slide close to the magnet to work. A little deceptive. Hope this helps others.
