I bought this after watching an episode of America's Test Kitchen when they made chicken parmesan. The tip was to pound the separated chicken breasts between two sheets of cling film so they're evenly thin for roasting. I tried to forego another kitchen gadget but couldn't resist tender and thin patties for my ATK-style Parmesan chicken. This device turned out to be surprisingly heavy. Let's just say if I'm ever attacked in the kitchen, I know what item I'm going to grab. I have split chicken breasts using the ATK method and have been able to split chicken breasts that are a quarter inch thick. After breading and frying, chicken cutlets turned out tender and juicy. However, after I made 4 patties, it took a small toll on my wrists. It didn't hurt, but I had to get used to the weight. The spatula is easy to clean and lies comfortably in the hand.
