This is a kitchen tool that was clearly NOT new

The box it came in was an old cardboard box; soft and spongy. There was little air left in the bubble wrap. There were pits and scratches on the face of the jackhammer. This is an abridged version of my first attempt at review, which was rejected by Revain on the grounds that "obscene or vulgar language is not allowed, even on adult products". I didn't use profanity. I think my description of "soft" cardboard and "airless" bubble wrap triggered their very complex algorithms. What I'm saying is…

Does the job seems like the best deal for the job

Bought this to make my own schnitzel. And this is the tool you need when you want to puree meat completely flat and thin. The other kind, a long handle with a small hammer head, I'm not even sure if it's technically intended for anything other than taking up desk drawer space. But I digress. I wasn't sure if 24 ounces would be heavy enough. I'm big and strong, and after turning some steaks into schnitzel tonight, I think this is the ticket. It's still work, but other than the hydraulic press…

Beat meat with this Norpro tool

My 40 year old wife went to see another man five months ago and to my dismay took a powerful meat tenderizer that I had. grown up in love; I made it "Tornado," a flank steak that I'm sure the crowd will love. I looked for another in Bede, Bath and Beyond but all they had were pathetic little hammers that did their job and smashed with cube-shaped protrusions. I needed a heavy flat bottomed tool and found the Norpro Tenderizer at Revain. It weighs twenty ounces like a hammer. This feels sturdy…

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

I would put off buying this pound for a few years because it's expensive. I often pound boneless chicken breasts to 1/4 inch thickness and this device makes it easier without breaking the breast meat down the middle - a problem I often run into with a jackhammer. surfaces and don't be afraid to smack the meat hard for faster results. My girlfriend likes the hammer style more than this one. I like this one the best and I'm glad I finally spent some extra money on this beautiful kitchen tool.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Infinitely slow

Goodbye meat mallet

I bought this meat mallet a few months ago and have not been disappointed. Having used old hammer hammers for a lifetime, I'm almost a little frustrated that nobody has ever pushed me into one. Well balanced and with a large surface area at the beating end, it quickly handles chicken and beef that we need to flatten to cook. It's heavier than a regular hammer hammer, but I prefer it. It puts less strain on my hands than hammer hammers and it doesn't tear flesh like hammer hammers always did…

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Useless features

I don't trust this with my food. I wanted a stainless steel skirting board for its density and the fact that it doesn't need to be chrome plated. It's badly chromed. Chromium is a heavy metal that can cause neurological problems, some types of chromium have been linked to cancer (as Erin Brockovich is well known). Since it's made in China, I don't know what it really is. Everything is perfect except chrome. I like the weight, the feel and the large surface area. I will never use it. I took this

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Poor set

Great stress reliever

I bought this after watching an episode of America's Test Kitchen when they made chicken parmesan. The tip was to pound the separated chicken breasts between two sheets of cling film so they're evenly thin for roasting. I tried to forego another kitchen gadget but couldn't resist tender and thin patties for my ATK-style Parmesan chicken. This device turned out to be surprisingly heavy. Let's just say if I'm ever attacked in the kitchen, I know what item I'm going to grab. I have split chicken…

Love it but $20? - Kitchen and dining room

I have compared different models, shapes etc and found this to be the best. I definitely don't regret the purchase. Perfectly designed for comfort and perfection, which is the most important thing. This product puts you in total control. I used it once and it was very easy to completely and evenly flatten my chicken breasts. I thought it was small but it was good. You'll just have to take a few more hits than if you were getting some more, but it doesn't matter. Mine had a crumpled bottom flat…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
