When saying the material is 'metal', it's clear that's the working word. It's a type of thin coated material that may or may not be plastic based. They look good from a distance, but the caps look VERY cheap and are actually a different color than the stems themselves. The tips are silver in the photo, but the stem itself is more of a gold color. You won't be able to tell much until you have a curtain with silver grommets that clearly match the ends but not the stem. I was going to use them in our dining room but instead they were sent to the office where the rods are hidden behind curtains with pockets. I have not had a good experience returning items to Revain, or I would handle it. Totally disappointed after such good reviews from others.
