a solar panel, battery and works great. Pumps easily uphill through a 300-foot 1.14-inch polyethylene hose into a storage tank, even here in Northern Idaho on days with little to no sun. I will buy another one as a replacement. Even on cloudy days, when the battery voltage can drop to 7-8 volts after a few hours of operation, it still pumps water uphill.
