I bought this tool to install a rivet joint on my Ducati Supersport. I ground off the head of the old rivet but using this tool to remove the link was not easy as the tool covers the chain so visibility is poor. I ended up using a plain old link remover tool from my toolbox. Pit Posse was also desperately pushing for the new connection. The pressure plate was not aligned for the stock 520 chain and, again, visibility was poor. It is important to check the pressure plate and connection alignment before use. After damaging the link with the Pit Posse, I bought a new link and pressed it to the correct specs using a vise and appropriate backing plates. The pit posse was fine with the link riveting. I did it in small increments until the spec was met. It required a lot more pressure than I expected. I'm not a trained mechanic, but somewhat handy.
