Bought this to install 6 x 6 x 16 foot poles for my barn. I think it's better suited for 4"x4" bars because the rubber band broke on the 3rd bar. I just replaced it with some household rubber bands tied together and it worked. Note, however, that this is not the most accurate level for making large or long posts. It's only about 6 inches long after all, so that's basically the number of posts you line up. I used it to set up a pole and take it to the stadium, then finished the job using a 4 foot spirit level for more accuracy. If you're using it to install deck lugs or anything that sticks out just a few feet off the ground, you're fine. However, for tall posts, we use a more precise bubble level for final positioning. However, using this level helped initially, so I would recommend it. Pretty good buy for your money.
