Operation One Man/Woman

I used this to align an SUV when building a pergola. It was very helpful. It used to take two people and some time to line them up. I did it myself with this tool and it worked great. I even dropped it a few times and the acrylic bubble was still intact. My only downside is that it looks like 4x4s is the largest size it can wrap with the external clamp.

Johnson's Essential Economic Tool

I recently built a fence about 80 feet long around our yard. This involved installing vinyl and wood poles in the concrete about every 8 feet, and installing two gates and a gazebo. I bought two brands of adjustment layers, the cheapest was the Johnson layer and the Tool 175-O GloOrange adjustment layer. While they were both needed to level the 17 fence posts, the Johnson level was easier to attach and just as strong as the more expensive brand. Therefore it represents the best value for the…

and it's the perfect tool. Two vials allow verification.

I work for a volunteer group that builds wheelchair ramps; We have installed many 4x4 uprights and this is the perfect tool. Two bubbles allow you to check the plumb line in two directions without moving the instrument. This is way better than moving the default layer back and forth! After the first job, others bought them, so we often use a pair at a time. I haven't used the third bubble for the level yet. The only reason to deduct a 5th star is that the rubber band looks like it's about to…

Worked well for what I used it for

Bought this to install 6 x 6 x 16 foot poles for my barn. I think it's better suited for 4"x4" bars because the rubber band broke on the 3rd bar. I just replaced it with some household rubber bands tied together and it worked. Note, however, that this is not the most accurate level for making large or long posts. It's only about 6 inches long after all, so that's basically the number of posts you line up. I used it to set up a pole and take it to the stadium, then finished the job using a 4…

Years old design that still works for setting posts

My post level that I've had for years is finally "gone"! Two of the three bubble bottles broke/leaked so it was already useless! So I ordered this one! Exactly the same design and size as my previous one I bought years ago! The only difference is this one is bright orange and made in China while my previous level was made in the USA and had a lifetime warranty! But I couldn't find the company that made it, so the lifetime warranty wasn't practical. No such guarantee was noted at the postal…
