Not sure how the crack started. I know I didn't hit anything. Ease of installation. The price is ok for what it is. I think it could be a bit cheaper. Doesn't seem very strong and brittle after a while. I got them in just 3-4 months. And I purposely did NOT go to car washes to see if they would help with normal driving. You can see the photos yourself. I would buy it again only if the price was lower.
