I was really stupid. I thought I bought a voltmeter (because someone told me it was like $10 for one, which isn't the case), but here it is. Obviously he's doing exactly what he's supposed to do, there's nothing wrong with that. It's quite expensive for what it is, but at the moment I'm too lazy to return it, so I have peace of mind. I think the lesson here is that I should probably read the full product names before I buy them. 😂
