I mounted it on a motorcycle. It worked well. Definitely what I expected for the price. I store my motorcycle in the backyard but under a canopy. The night before last we had quite a strong wind and the shelter was blown away. In the morning everything was dry except for the rev counter. It was waterlogged and very dead. Will buy another one like this, but will make sure the reviews say it's waterproof, not just the product description that says "Backlit digital resettable hour meter, inductive tachometer." This is a waterproof hour meter that can work in any 2-stroke or 4-stroke gas engine,_
