I bought this fan to cool the generator in my sailboat's engine room! The compact form factor was important to me and it fit perfectly in the small space I needed for the installation. It moves a lot of air - about 45 cfm, which might not sound like a lot, but it's actually quite a lot, and it does its job fairly quietly, unlike some other fans I've researched that sounded bigger than jet engines. Before installing this fan, my alternator was getting hot. up to >400F! Now it barely goes above 280F and all I did was put that fan about 20 inches behind it. If you need to cool something and don't want a lot of noise, this fan is a very good choice.
