Review on Utopia Bedding Protector Breathable Waterproof by Kevin Samuels

We've been using this for a few months now and I'm very happy with my purchase. We have an elderly cat who has incontinence issues and has ruined a mattress or two. She has had several serious "accidents" and repeatedly peed on her bed. Not only did other "waterproof" cases leak urine, we couldn't get rid of that smell, no matter what soap, water temperature, or wash cycle we used. This mattress topper saved a life (and a mattress). We accidentally left the cat inside several times while we were gone all day, so her "accident" was there all day. When we first got home and saw that the liquid had spread all over the sheet, we knew immediately that the mattress was damaged as well. But it wasn't! This mattress topper stretched and stopped any leakage. The top layer, which is very soft, soaks up the liquid that the sheets didn't absorb, and the bottom layer, which doesn't rustle at all, doesn't let the liquid get onto the mattress at all! It fits snugly in our very deep mattress but doesn't pull so hard it doesn't tear or anything. I can place it from my fingertips to the middle of my arm. I wash it warm and hang it inside out to dry for a while until all the water drains from the bottom layer. Then I toss it in the dryer on gentle/low heat for a while and it's ready to go. I recommend this because I remember reading some of the dryer error reports. However, drying in this way does not take much time. And it doesn't smell.
