I hate sharpening knives. Did I mention I hate sharpening knives? Because I hate sharpening knives! Now let's talk about this amazing tool! I worked many hours on wet stones, sharpened kitchen knives, pocket knives, etc. It's not my favorite pastime. And the cost of this kit made me hesitate for over a year. Which I now regret. After using a particularly dull steak knife, I decided to give it a try. I mean, the sharpest thing we had in the house back then was a butter knife. So. I bought it. In the first 10 minutes of use, I must have said "I love this thing" at least two dozen times. In an hour I sharpened every knife in the house to a razor blade. It was wonderful! The kit comes with one set of straps, but I would recommend purchasing a second set as well. The medium was enough for about 12 knives. Coarse will get you to a nice surface pretty quickly. Fine does an excellent job of polishing the blade. The sling was neat, but I really didn't need it.
