I bought a dozen cans of butane some years ago, and then the device they were for broke. I saw this and though, I might be able to use 35-year-old wok outdoors. I bought it off an infomercial when I was in college, they called it the "Great Wok of China". A play on words I suppose vs the "Great Wall". It's been used several hundred times and has a great "seasoning" on it due to the steel. I had recently got a flatbottomed version I liked, but it's textured interior and Nitrogen coating was not effective as a non-stick. I did everything I could to use drier cooked rice, and proper heat and oil, and my fried rice still stuck.My older wok is a round bottom, but with the seasoned surface, I rarely have sticking problems with food. Fried rice can be the worst, but it is no problem with the older well-seasoned wok. It just doesn't do well on either a directly heated electric stove top, or an induction unit due to the round bottom. My regular stove is gas, so it works fine, but I needed something outdoors to have a party making Moo Goo Gai Pan, fried rice, or stir-fry. This cooker heats well with butane and has an adapter to use a larger propane bottle if needed. I'm OK with just the butane since I have a lot, and since wok cooking is very fast, I won't have to change bottles during a typical BBQ. While I have a small Sportsman cast iron charcoal grill, I like making more unique outdoor experiences with Korean grills, electric pizza cooker, air fryers, induction cooking hot pot, and others. Now I can use my wok to make my Chinese favorites to party with. Recommended.
