Overview EZViz

These cameras are just one step beyond useless. If you have the means to get the best cameras, you should. The setup is not easy and fails in most cases. They don't stay connected and often break off, but eventually come back. They also often appear offline when they are ok and you need to restart them to fix the problem. However, I will be constructive here and try to suggest a few simple steps to make the setup a little easier for you: Using the camera setup app hit the mark. The camera's built-in Wi-Fi is more or less toy quality, and it drops the connection midway through. If you have a router with Ethernet ports and a Windows computer, you can try the following steps. 1) Download and install the ezviz Studio app for Windows from their website. Just click Support and you will see the Download Center. (Fair warning: the studio software is outdated and not very user friendly. They don't seem to bother updating/improving it. It's good enough to set up these cameras but not reliable enough to use as camera surveillance software Program crashes if it runs more than 30 minutes.) 2) Connect the Ethernet cable to the camera's built-in port, and then connect it to the router's port. Plug in your camera and let it boot up. 3) Launch the EZviz app and create an account so the cloud service can spy on your cameras and try to bullshit you with a subscription. 4) Click the All Devices button at the bottom left. Angle and let your camera scan it. For this part you need the code from the sticker on your camera. (I recommend replacing it with what you remember as these stickers are cheap. They fade and fall off easily.) 5) Once you've added your camera, go back to "All Devices" from the home screen and tap More. under your camera. 6) Go to "Network" > "WLAN" > enter your SSID name and password, select the appropriate security method and save. 7) At this point you should be able to power off the camera, unplug and reconnect the network cable. It should now connect to your router via Wi-Fi. Much luck.

Pros
  • Smart Spotlight Color Night Vision: The C8C can actively monitor in black and white in the dark and automatically turn on spotlights and color night vision when human movement is detected. Choose from three modes in the EZVIZ app: full black and white night vision (headlights off), full color night vision (headlights on) and intelligent color night vision (headlights activate automatically when human movement is detected).
Cons
  • Good, but not great
