It wasn't until I soldered these connectors to dozens of prototype panels that I realized how poor the quality was. When connecting the panels in a chain, the voltage drop was also unacceptable on the 2nd panel. Finally, I set up a test setup to measure resistance across a pair of connectors. The average resistance was about 400 mΩ. It's huge. The maximum contact resistance for JST-SM connectors should be around 20mΩ, and the resistance for 1 foot or 22 AWG wires should be around 17mΩ. I cut a connector off one end of the wire and measured the resistance of a 6" strip of wire. I was stunned to find it was almost 200mΩ. I ended up just buying a cheap set of crimping tools and connectors and using my 22AWG -Stranded jumper wire. The results were day and night. My own crimp connectors had a resistance of about 32mΩ. Now I have 40 pairs of useless cables that will probably just end up in the trash. I would definitely not recommend these connectors. If you Using 5V LEDs, the voltage drop on just one terminal is a problem.And that's not even to mention that you'll draw quite a bit of current just heating up these leads.TL;DR - These leads are cheap wire Made with high resistance Use at your own risk.
