I bought these and use them with a Fluval 307 canister filter in my 17 gallon ADA 60P aquarium for my planting. The large tube opening reduces the outlet pressure and distributes it over a wider and more even flow pattern. This is especially helpful as using a large filter for my small pool with the original pipes gives a very strong flow. Since the pipes are transparent, they also blend in with the tank much better and look more stylish in my opinion. I also bought some clear tubes for the filter so I don't have ugly black tubes dangling out of my tank. Some have complained about pipes breaking when installing pipes, but I've had no problems. Wet the tubes and hoses with warm water and slowly move them up the tube. Each whistle lasted less than a minute.
