Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very happy with this product!

I purchased this product when my son was 7 months old, just a month before his first Christmas. I looked at all the competitors and quickly decided on the Sony DVD200 or DVD300. I could have bought a DVD300 for about $100 more, but I didn't care about the 3.5-inch LCD screen. The only difference between the DVD200 and DVD300 is the size of the LCD screen. The ease of use is great! 5 Stars! Noise and vibration are almost imperceptible. Don't worry about other people's comments about vibration and noise. I noticed that as soon as I put the DVD in the camcorder, but I didn't feel anything when recording the video. The zoom is excellent and I am very happy with the lens. I like the special features like the ability to switch lenses, put filters on the lens, add a flash and a microphone. equipment too. If I had to find something I didn't like about the camcorder, it would have to be the Pixela software that came with it. I have a Sony digital camera that came with similar software that didn't satisfy me either. I wish Sony would just walk away from the Pixela! All in all, if you're in the $600-$1200 price range for a camcorder, there really isn't any other reasonable product to compare. I planned around $600, but the benefits of doing it right away outweighed the $300+ I had to shell out. Things I don't use that got bad reviews: 1 megabyte. Picture. more shots. If you're buying a camcorder for taking pictures, don't buy this camcorder or any other camcorder. BUY A CAMERA! Also, the only problem I had when choosing this product was how to stop and start again with DVD technology. I was so glad to know that when you stop recording, the DVD is indexed. So if you start and stop 6 times, you have to look at 6 graphic indices. If you just want to keep recording after each stop, just press the record button and it will start with your last track. No need to worry about stopping and starting over and over again. ---- This rating is based on approximately 10 hours of use and was not used with a DVD-RW disc. I only used DVD-R DVD. Offers DVD-RW when editing with camera, but may not work on all DVD players. However, if you don't edit in the camcorder, the camcorder will work normally and you can use the disc up to 1000 (thousand) times.
