Very soft, dog 1 loves it! Easy to put on and wash. Dog 2 wasn't too impressed with what we dressed her up in but she doesn't hate it. Unfortunately, wool stretches, so that what was initially a very well-fitting wool became a wool that was too large. My 37lb mix dog tried them on in the store and a size 18 seemed to fit perfectly so unfortunately we went for it. Now it hangs over his tail, exposing a part of his chest that is missing hair and needs to be covered. The second fleece we got is a 16 which is tight now but will stretch. If you choose weight only, be sure to order one size smaller, even if your dog is on the higher end of the weight range. For my 20lb Miniature Beagle we ordered a size 12 (rated for 8-13lbs) and it now fits well again but I'm sure it will be the right size once she wears it a little.
