Replace every 6 months

Don't wait for the bulb to die - it won't do you any good in the last 6 months. I just wish they lasted longer! Now I have a spare bulb just in case. Ultraviolet light is a godsend for aquariums. I threw the instructions for replacing this bulb in my CF-400UV a long time ago. All you have to do is remove the top of the canister filter and find two small screws near the base of the bulb. Take a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew those two screws and the panel should pop open. You can then carefully remove the glass housing, take out the old light bulb and insert the new one. Tighten everything back up and put the top back on. It takes no more than 10 minutes!
