I bought this ball for my 5 year old daughter. She recently started to learn how to play basketball. I searched in vain for a pink 27 inch ball but setteled for this. She likes that it is not brown like most other basketballs. The size is perfect for her. Given that most of the 5 year old boys playing with her are not any bigger, this should be fine for boys too.The ball has markings on it that show how to hold the ball when shooting a basket. The markings are are for left and right handed kids. They can be a little confusing for little ones so you have to teach them what the markings mean. My daughter isnt strong enough to shoot the ball one handed into the basket yet, but the ball has her trying and she is doing it the right way. The ball feels grippy and definitely wont slip out of little kids hands.The ball comes deflated in a plastic bag. You need to inflate it yourself. This if for the folks who are expecting to get it the way you see the balls stored in the sporting goods stores.I give this product a 5 based on size, weight, and feel.
