We bought similar lights a few years ago when they first came out and loved it - what we didn't have to live with was changing the batteries. While batteries lasted a long time when they died, there inevitably came a time when we didn't have enough inventory to replace dead batteries. These USB lamps are not only rechargeable with 1800mAh batteries, but also much brighter than our previous lamps, each has 80 LEDs, the lamp temperature is adjustable, and they are more sensitive. We use this lamp in a closed pantry where there is no other light source. As soon as the door is opened the light comes on so we can choose what we need and when we close the door the light goes off. an enclosed space like a pantry. If you want to light up a large area, I would recommend a flashlight with 120+ LEDs.
