Great little pump! Almost silent! Why can't my regular pool pump be that quiet? Drain a 15,000 gallon 8 foot deep pool overnight. The 1-1/4" outlet is threaded and a garden hose adapter is included, but I didn't want to use a garden hose for the amount of water I needed to pump. For some reason it was difficult to find a threaded adapter that actually fits this pump. Two trips to the local pool shop and scouring through the back room parts store we found a working threaded connection and added another adapter with a fitting that allowed me to use my existing (and already paid for) pool cleaning hoses. Just be prepared for a possible trip or two to a plumbing/home/pool shop for some hookups. Also, make sure you have a ROPE handy, do not lower or lift the pump by the power cord, no matter how tempting it may be. it can be.
