What interested me most was the DC (high) current capability of this meter in automotive applications. I blew my 20A wire in a very high voltage, low current gas ignition circuit a long time ago and replaced it with this one. I also have small tools for everyday use - volts, ac (clamp), continuity and ohms. This one seems accurate in DC ampere ratings, but I can't stress this enough. READ THE MANUAL. It has many useful features and feature tips that I initially missed. I tend to toss the book and go straight to the meter - pop in the battery and go. The DC amps didn't work at all like the other gauges I use for AC amps. You MUST hold down the SEL button and zero before using it on a track. I've found that I have to do this fairly often during any given session - not sure why, but it works well, remembering that it starts to drift and becomes "wobbly" unless I reset it to zero . It doesn't matter to me because the price was reasonable and I'm not looking for super precision in automotive DC circuits. and I know I won't blow it because it's a clamp but I still miss my old one for the ease of use of bank current measurements under 20A. But I also paid MUCH more LONG more for it. I like this meter.
