Shipping without pre-cleaning. Just opening the package (with scissors) would cause the dust to rise into the air and give me an allergic reaction, causing a sneezing fit and tears in my eyes. I installed it in my tank after washing it for hours and shortly after inserting it my fish had an eye infection. I may have done something wrong and it was my fault and luckily the infection cleared up after a few days but I can't believe this gravel is safe for fish or at least small individual tanks. I feel like I would have gotten better results if I picked up and used some outside gravel for free.
