The best home air filter you can find. It's MERV 12, so it filters everything except cigarette smoke. But get a MERV 14 or better filter and you can do it (15 is hospital grade and 16 is what they use in operating rooms). I don't smoke at home (I don't smoke, period) so that would be overkill for me. If you smoke and are over the age of 13 you will notice a difference in air quality even if you still have orange walls from nicotine. This filter collects all the scales, pollen, mold, spores, etc. and traps them in this filter. If you're allergic, YOU NEED ONE OF THESE FILTERS! Especially if you are overloaded at night. I live in an area with low humidity and high pollen count and this air filter has been great. This is not a standard blue screen air filter. It is of high quality and durability. The filters come in packs of 6 and will last approximately 2 months each. This means that you can breathe comfortably through your nose for 1 year with this purchase. Like I said, if you're allergic and don't have a MERV 12 filter, you're living wrong. Your home should be a sanctuary from allergens. Yes, when you go out you need allegra, but not at home. If you buy these filters you will not regret it. You have to breathe to live. lol Why not have the best air in your home and a sanctuary where you can breathe really deep? The best money I've ever spent. Would give 999 stars if I could. Here is a link to the MERV rating table so you can compare which one best suits your needs: [.]
