Review on πŸ–οΈ Tombow 51529 Irojiten Tranquil Colored Pencil Set - Premium 12 Colored Pencils, Sharpener, & Eraser by Barbara Simmons

Ideal for coloring - art supplies

Beautiful pastel colors and ideal for colouring. Oranges, but These Tombow pens are for coloring. Premium Prismacolor pencils are softer and contain more pigment. It's fine for fine art, but when you color, apply enough pigment to fully cover the lines. Even if the paper is textured, the Prismacolor pencils are so soft that they only color the top of the texture. You need to be able to apply some pressure to the pen to get a really smooth finish. If you try this with Prismacolor you will often end up with nothing but pigment on the paper texture. Tombow pencils have a harder lead and harden more slowly. This provides a smoother texture and gradual color build-up. And the pencils last longer than softer artist pencils like Prismacolor. The included sand eraser (which is an ink eraser) helps add highlights. The sharpener is included - basic but works and is handy to have. These pastels are beautiful, but you can still get a range of vibrant hues. There might be a spot here or there where you need a really bright red, blue, or green.

Pros
  • Perfectly centered lead shaft glued to the wooden body for tear resistance and even sharpening of the lead
Cons
  • Wrinkled packaging
