i have a squat and exercise rack. It has pins for weights. However, the pins are spaced vertically, so you can't place both Olympic-size weights on them at the same time. My solution was to move the top pin up a few inches by drilling a hole in the metal frame. None of my regular drill bits could make a 1 inch hole. The thing worked quickly and easily. I was able to determine the entire size required by placing this drill bit in the original hole and seeing what "pitch" I needed to drill. I just drilled to this notch and was able to place the pin at a higher level. Some of the gold/brass paint coating has come off due to drilling in the metal, but the drill is not damaged in any way. Works perfectly!
