Overall, I think it's a great model for the average PC user because the volume is high, the speed is satisfactory, and the pricing is reasonable. Some benefits: A lot of product for a cheap price. The 55 TB/year of permanent overwriting is not particularly impressive, but it is perfectly adequate for archival purposes. Of course, I wouldn't stand for it to be a constant torrent outside. There is an ironwolf and skyhawk series designed for this very purpose. For a steady load, they perform admirably in this location. The negatives: When transferring files of around 500 GB, the speed plummeted to 3-5 Mb / s, which was disappointing because I still expected the rates to reach the claimed limit of 150-170 MB. A longer time of use is required for a more thorough evaluation. So far, so good. And, of course, a dash of regret in the guarantee. In addition to the standard two-year guarantee period, manufacturers now include a "service life" clause. It's a really awful situation. Test its longevity if you will.
