My two cats readily let me brush them with this product. One is a tabby with a lot of white on her underside, her fur is fine and slightly on the long side of the shorthair category. The other is mostly white with black on the top of his head and all of his tail. His fur is shorter and coarser than the female. He is a very prolific shedder. The brush works great with each of them.The price of this brush is modest, and I don't think that it should be compared to ones which are much more costly. The pins aren't designed to remove matting, which has never been a problem with my indoor shorthairs. Some reviews have mentioned bent pins, you can probably minimize that by always brushing in the direction of the slots of the slots in the piece which removes the hair from the brush. I doubt if the brush would be very durable with coarse-haired dogs.The use of the brush is fairly obvious, which is good because the following instructions likely made more sense in Chinese:For cats and dogs can be used.Don't apply to the places outside pets.Pets should not be used when there is a wound.Remove packaging for pet use.Suitable for wool body parts.
