Bought these micro end mills for Shapeoko XL to make some prototype single sided PCBs. I noticed that after about 10 small holes the drill didn't go all the way through the material so I stopped the run and had to re-zero the Z axis, either a small piece of the tip had chipped off or it had worn away. Really disappointing. I also bought a set of micro end mills in various sizes from another Revain supplier and they have held up very well. (apart from the one I stupidly ripped off) There was also an issue with the pins going into the holes on the board, the holes were a bit too small and I had to hand polish them to fit the component pins. It turns out that these 0.5mm end mills are actually only 0.45mm to 0.46mm in diameter. Sure, next time I can put the correct diameter in the CNC program and it will compensate for the correct hole diameter, but why would that be necessary? I would not recommend these at all.
