When I used these on a CNC mill at very slow plunge and feed speeds I had a couple of failures immediately after plunge. Those who didn't, however, lasted impressively long. I was able to cut .055" mother of pearl chips (multiple passes) and ebony with no problem. For such a thin bit and at such a price I am very satisfied.

Cut material: wood, thermoplastic Grommets are longer, stronger and cheaper than what I've used before. At some point during the cut, a fairly large chunk of material hit the tip and flipped on the top half, while the rest of the cuts went without incident. This would instantly break one of my other pieces, but it kept cutting until the build was complete over an hour later. Recommend.

Bought these micro end mills for Shapeoko XL to make some prototype single sided PCBs. I noticed that after about 10 small holes the drill didn't go all the way through the material so I stopped the run and had to re-zero the Z axis, either a small piece of the tip had chipped off or it had worn away.
