All I can say is that crabs eat it. I use it to stay near their aquarium for a few days when I'm busy and don't have time to get them something from the kitchen. I can take that when I come over and give them something for the day. It looks like dried maggots and pieces. If you have crab, make sure they alternate what they eat. Don't just try to find the best bottled crab food and feed them the same food every day.
