I had a CEL and a 'Fuel Cap' warning in my instrument cluster. I have a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4, 6 speed transmission, 5.7 liter Hemi engine. I replaced the gas cap and the CEL did not go away. I replaced this part and after filling up the truck the light went out. Due to the self-checking nature of the exhaust system, this part will not normally turn off the light immediately, but be patient, it will likely go off after a tank or two. This part is much better than replacing the entire charcoal tank as recommended by Dodge dealers. At the same time, it is recommended to replace the rubber sealing ring.
