Review on LaCie Hard Drive Firewire 301146U by Dan Sturm

I have 3 LaCie drives and they all work very well. This is the last one I bought and I was even happier than previous purchases. Finally figured out how to make this drive completely silent. If you are a HD music lover and you stream music from your hard drives, you will love this feature. Fan noise and drive noise are almost non-existent. There are also great USB options, FIREWIRE 400 and FIREWIRE 800. The previous version only had 2 FireWire ports, but adding USB was a great idea. Now you can access the information no matter which computer you move it to. Obviously the FIREWIRE 800 has the highest transmission rate, but all interfaces work perfectly. If you have a Mac, plug and play. I can't speak for PC users, but I'm sure it's easy. *** Warning. The LaCie Disc is a spinning disc. Don't let its size and weight fool you. If you plan on moving it from place to place, be VERY careful. I lost my first one driving to work "on the spot" and when I came back the drive had failed.
