Failed twice on external SSDs

I might have been unlucky, but two of these didn't work for me and resulted in file corruption. Although I have Western Digital many years ago, it still works and has never given me any problems. Just wanted a second one for extra files and storage. Unfortunately this brand isn't for me and both make the weird sound I've read about. Not worth saying no, but the readable features and write speed plus glitches are enough to make me refuse to buy!

This is a hard drive. Forget the part of the name "One Touch "

The name "One Touch" means nothing. I figured there should be a physical button on the drive to start the backup. no They included a link to download the software. All backups are managed on your computer. It's ok for what I wanted.

was used to secure vital information and it died the first time I needed it

I can't express the hatred I feel for this item. I bought it to restore some very important files I needed to back up and 5 months later when I plugged in the drive to get some files. Business is dead. Don't stick, just click. In any case, this article has never been abused. I will NEVER trust Seagate again.

Used for CCTV NVR and lasted a month

To be honest I don't use this product normally or maybe as intended so I'll stick with 2 starts but. The first thing I did was take this drive out of the case. For those curious, it's 2.5 inches. I installed the drive in Ubiquiti Cloud Key Gen 2 as 5TB is the maximum size it can hold. This drive worked well for the first few weeks and then the clicks started. Now it's dead. Then try WD but expensive 1 month NVR storage.
